I open to the Rose, And find myself, Deep within perfumed folds of pink, Drunk with beauty! I open to the song of the bird, To hear the music of my soul, Singing free! I open to the sky, And find myself floating, Soft and loving as a cloud! I open to beauty and I open to myself, I embrace beauty and know it as myself, I let it in, And let it shine. -Anita Bacha-

Thank you Tanvir! I have used a few metaphors in imagining and ultimately jotting down this piece.

Hi Nitin! Glad to see you back. Thank you for your appreciation of I am Beauty. I make the use of metaphors in my poetry and here when I declare to the rose ๐น that I open to her, it may not necessarily mean that I am opening to a flower. If we stretch our imaginationโthe roseโ may mean a woman to a man or a man to a woman. In poetry, the writer is creative and he/she has a broad, all compassing imagination. For example, one may have eyes to contemplate a rose ๐น but the poet sees the rose ๐น his/her gaze penetrates deep inside the closed petals to capture the essence of beauty.
I love all flowers,
I love the rose too,
They are all my favorites.
