A book must be the axe for the frozen sea within us – Kafka – Book Launch by Anita Bacha

My latest book, “The Adventures of Alicia Parker,” is a heartfelt exploration of loss and resilience. Through Alicia’s journey, I hope to resonate with readers who have faced similar challenges. Join me as we uncover the power of storytelling to heal and inspire.

I wrote and published my fifth book for children and teenagers a few months ago.

The message that I wanted to tear from my heart and share with the world was out.

I’m a motherless child. I lost my mom when I was barely seven years old. The rest of my life was spent in the world of adults, mostly cruel and unscrupulous men and women.

I studied law and I became a lawyer, but I cherished the passion for writing. I wrote poetry and short stories and had my work published. Writing helped me to realize myself. My heart was frozen since the day my mother died. I lived in a warm cocoon before and suddenly I was alone with my fears.

My latest book has captured the emotions of a motherless child and this child could be me or you or anyone.

Poetry – Quote by Anita Bacha

I didn’t choose poetry, poetry chose me.

Anita Bacha.

I started to write poetry at the age of eleven and I have continued to do so for decades till today, having survived both breast cancer and the pandemic.

A few years ago, aging and a gradual and sudden worsening of my physiological condition hit me very hard. I thought I would give up poetry and writing altogether and seek refuge in gardening.

Poetry called me. I attended the Jaipur Literary Festival 2025 with my son Toshu . He followed me out of love.

I realized how a fortunate mother I was when I slipped and fell under the shower and Toshu rushed to my rescue. Diagnosed with severe injuries in the right shoulder, I spent the rest of my stay in Jaipur in a hotel room bed with a quill and with the passion of my life, my poetry.

Reading loud from my book of short poems Leaves cc. Anita Bacha.

Many thanks for spending some of your precious time with me, dear friends and readers.
