Blue Orchids in Bloom – A Haiku by Anita Bacha

Walking down the street,

A rare beauty holds my breath –

Blue orchids in bloom.

Why haiku, my dear friends and readers?

Traditional and structured, this short form of Japanese poetry is well-known for its rule of 5/7/5: five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five again in the third. Haikus are known for their ability to paint a vivid picture in just a few words. A practice of artistic discipline, their minimal nature forces writers to pare down to only the essentials—making each word, or even syllable, count.

“The Old Pond” by Matsuo Bashō

An old silent pond

A frog jumps into the pond—

Splash! Silence again.

Thank you for your visit, my dear friends

Thank you for your visit my dear friends.

Flying from London to Milan this morning, I was inspired by the overwhelming sight of the Alps to jot down that haiku poem. Trust you will enjoy.

Sun Is Going Down – A Tanka Poem by Anita Bacha

Sun is going down,

Silvery ripples yo-yo,

Neath catamaran,

Morn waves roar and crash on shore,

On horizon sailing boats .

Thank you for viewing and reading, dear friends.

Happy Saturday.

Happy Summer Day.

White Flowers in the Night

Take me with you,

To a land where white flowers

Bloom in the night,

Where moths freely die in the light,

As I bloom and I die in your favors;

Take me with you,

Keep me close to you,

As the scent of white flowers

Invigorate the breath of lovers,

And I write with the ink of your eyes,

These petals of poetry,

Chaste as white flowers in the night.

The First Leaf 🍁 of the Fall

Behold the first turn of the autumn leaf 🍁

From green ☘️to amber light,

From yellow to rusty veins;

Behold the game of life,

Like the autumn leaf 🍂

We have lived,

Knowing life is a gift 💝 of God,

Gracefully, we detach,

We take our leave,

Make way for new leaves 🍀🌿🍃🍀
